Consistency for a believer can best be defined as living a life that conforms to what we believe, profess and experience personally about Christ. Consistency should be the desire of every believer. The world does not expect perfection from Christians, but they do expect consistency. Consistency is only made possible as one abides in Christ. Jesus Himself said "I am the vine, you are the branches. Apart from Me you can do nothing." Being in close fellowship with our Lord is what makes a consistent life possible.

This study will focus on the dynamics of consistency. It looks closely at the benefits of abiding in close fellowship with Christ and what happens when one chooses to leave the fellowship of our Lord. The fruit of consistency that will be evident as one abides will be discussed. Keys to remaining consistent will also be examined. Living Dangerously should be the goal of every born again believer! Someone once said "If you are not meeting any opposition in your Christian life then maybe you and Satan are going in the same direction!" God does indeed want us to go against the flow of this world. The reality is we are not to be of this world, but rather just passing through. Jesus makes it very clear in scripture that Satan is the god of this world. We are actually soldiers involved in the spiritual warfare taking place all around us. God desires His children to inflict damage on the enemy. Scripture tells us God gives us divine power to demolish Satan's strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). God's Word is very clear: everyone will be held accountable for choices made and actions taken on this earth. God compels us as His children in Romans 12:1-2 to present our bodies as a "living sacrifice". It is a very practical way of worshipping Him. The condition of one's heart is very important. Scripture tells us to guard our heart because from out of it flows the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23). When one asks Jesus to be their Lord and Savior, He steps out of Heaven and into their heart. There, He performs "spiritual surgery" and removes deep-rooted sin. He then dwells there in the person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit acts as a spiritual "pacemaker" to keep our heart a place that reflects the glory of our Lord.

God is actively at work all around us. He's at work drawing a lost man to the saving knowledge found only in His son. One day God will divide the sheep from the goats. The sheep will experience heaven, the goats - hell. What if that moment took place in a modern day courtroom setting? Exactly what would it look like if Satan were the prosecuting attorney attempting to prove that everyone was a goat deserving to spend eternity in hell with him?

This study takes a look at that "what if" moment. Satan, in an attempt to prove us "goats", hits us with everything he has. He attacks Jesus' credibility, knowing if he can discredit who Jesus is, he has an "open and shut" case against us. He tells us in His word we are His workmanship, a tool to be used by Him. God has equipped us with everything we need to take the message of Life to a world that is dead in their sin.
