WHO IS
THE
CUTTING EDGE?
The Cutting Edge was started in 1993 by Rick J. Collins. Rick received a Masters Degree in Religious Education with a concentration in youth ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984. Rick served as youth minister for 24 years in the local church. During that time he also served as the camp director for the Colorado State Youth Camp for 3 years and as the camp director for the Greater Houston Camp Association for 16 years. He has led teams into Cuba to start and/or strengthen 7 different camps. He has also trained camp leadership in Venezula and Costa Rica. Rick also serves as the President of "Press On Missions", a non-profit ministry he helped to establish. The vision of Press On Missions is to establish youth camps in countries outside the US (www.PressOnMissions.com) to spread the word of God. Rick currently serves on staff at International Commission as the Camp Coordinator.
The studies offered by the Cutting Edge are actual studies Rick wrote and developed for his students during his years as youth minister. His camp materials have been used in the U.S., Cuba, Mexico, Venezula and Costa Rica. You will find they are scripturally based and very conservative in nature.
